We all agreed that we wanted to continue to get together, and to get as many Worrilow/Warrilow descendants to gather as possible. We've decided to move the date of the next reunion to a fall Saturday and have accepted the most generous invitation of Bill and Suzi Worrilow to return to their lovely home in Lebanon, PA on Saturday, September 18, 1999. Mark it on your calendar!
To keep everyone reminded of their ancestry and their far-flung cousins, I have accepted the job of putting out a newsletter, to be sent out sporadically, whenever there is news to report. I'd be glad to hear from any Worrilows and Worrilow descendants with submissions for publication; send them to me at 12829 Cliff Dr., Worton, MD 21678 or e-mail me at bkhutch@dmv.com.

Eighty-three persons attended, ranging in age from two months to 79 years, all of them descended from
Thomas and Hannah Dickinson Worrilow who lived in Delaware County, PA, in
the 19th century. Although many of these cousins didn't know one another
until the first reunion in 1995 at the home of William H. Worrilow, Jr., in
Lebanon, PA, they represent only a small fraction of the descendants of the
original settler, Thomas Henry Worrilow I, and his son John. Several of the
group are actively seeking to find as many Worrilow (or Warrilow)
descendants as possible.
Prizes were awarded to the oldest person present,
Margaret Bennington Thompson whose mother was Ruth Worrilow and who beat out
her cousin, one of three present Thomas Henrys, by only a few months; to the
youngest, Margaux Dubin, nine months, great-granddaughter of Catherine
Worrilow Stevenson (although two-month-old twins, daughters of Gregory & Joan
Worrilow, arrived too late to get the prize); to the one who came the
farthest, Lynn Worrilow of Pasadena, California; and to Bill Worrilow Jr.
for having been the inspiration three years ago to gather the clan.

The second annual Worrilow family reunion picnic was held recently (June 22, 1996) at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Worrilow, Jr. About 45 people attended from Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Alabama. Three Weaver bolognas were awarded, one for the oldest person present, the Hon. Thomas H. Worrilow, Brookhaven, Pa., age 78, a one-time member of the state legislature. Receiving a bologna for bringing the largest party were Mr. and Mrs. William Van Horn, Boothwyn, who brought a party of 10, including triplet daughters, while Lawrence "Bud" Worrilow of Montgomery, Ala., a wounded veteran of the 82nd (17th) Air Borne Division in World War II, was awarded a bologna for coming from the farthest point. Edward Worrilow, Drexel Hill was also present. He was wounded in Belgium in World War II while serving with the 95th Infantry Division. Unable to make the trip this year was Charles L. Worrilow of Lima, Ohio, who lost a leg in Germany in World War II, while serving with the 17th Air Borne Division. It was agreed to hold the family reunion next year in Worton, Md., under the supervision of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hutchinson. The Daily News, Labanon, Pa, Tuesday, July 2, 1996
![]() The reunion was held last August at the Clarion Plaza Hotel in Orlando, FL. My father Lawrence Worrilow (now deceased) and cousin Charles Worrilow (now deceased) were both in the 17th Airborne Division during World War II. My father served in the 193 B company of the division and made 5 combat parachute jumps during the war and was wounded on January 7, 1945 at Bastogne. (You can view pictures of my trip to Bastogne here.) Cousin Charles was in the 513 H company and had lost some of both legs during the war. He attended 43 17th Airborne Division reunions. Photo 1.
